Class 4
Welcome to Class 4
In Class 4 we have Year 5 and Year 6.
Miss Smith is the class teacher
A note from Miss Smith…
Welcome back everyone and I hope you had a relaxing break. This term sees the start of our new topic - Mexico. This will last for the duration of the summer term. It was great to see so many of you at parents evening and I am very proud of the children and how hard they are working in class.
Year 6
SATs week is week commencing Tuesday 9th May. All children must be in school promptly as we have a strict test timetable to adhere to. The tests will take place in the classroom.
End of year celebrations
We will be holding a leavers evening on 19th July in school at 5pm. The children from both Year 5 and 6 will perform an end of year production for parents to watch. This will be followed by a presentation evening for the Year 6 children. It has been a few years since we have been able to do this and we are looking forward to marking the end of year in this way.
Year 6 Leavers trip
This will take place on 20th July. More details to follow.
PE - PE lessons will take place on Tuesday and Friday delivered by the Lancashire sports partnership. All children must wear appropriate clothing for sports.
Reading— It is very important that children—of any age—have stories read to them and that they are also listened to and questioned about their reading books. Can you please use the yellow reading record to note when you have listened to your child read.
Spellings - Each week we will have a focussed objective for spelling and every morning we will study related spelling patterns, the children will be set 10 to 20 words featuring that pattern to learn at home and in school. On a Friday the children will be tested on ten of those words.
If you have any questions or concerns just call into the office to make an appointment to see me or catch me on the door after school.
Thank you,
Miss Smith
