Class 4
Welcome to Class 4
In Class 4 we have Year 5 and Year 6.
Miss Smith is the class teacher
A note from Miss Smith… Welcome back everyone. This year is flying by and we are now in the final term of the year. I hope you all had a restful Easter break and the children are ready for a new topic filled with great opportunities for learning.
School Uniform
Can I please remind parents that trainers are not permitted as part of school uniform. Children must wear black school shoes to school. It is so important that the children are aware of the school rules and regulations and that they follow these.
Homework
Currently, the children are set spellings every Friday, to be tested the following Friday -I will also make sure these are added to the Class webpage. In addition to this, Reading homework is set on a Thursday to be handed in on the Monday. At the moment less than half the class are handing it in on time. The homework that is handed in is often screwed up, or poorly presented. I would like the children to take more pride in their work and answer in complete sentences. For the remainder of this academic year, if this homework is not completed on time or to an acceptable standard, then the pupil will have to stay in at break time to complete it. Developing independence is important for children of this age and my aim is to make all of my class as prepared as possible for the next steps at High School. If there is a reason why your child cannot complete their work then please send a note into school.
Y6 Boosters
Booster groups will continue for the Year 6 children on Friday, we have just 4 more sessions, please try and ensure your child can attend.
Y6 SATS
Year 6 will sit their end of year assessments during week commencing 13th May. A separate letter will be sent to give the Year 6 parents more details about SATs week.
If you have any questions or concerns just call into the office to make an appointment to see me.
Thank you,
Miss Smith
