Class 4

Welcome to Class 4

In Class 4 we have Year 5 and Year 6.

Miss Smith and Mrs Boardman are the class teachers

A note from Miss Smith and Mrs Boardman…

Welcome back everyone and we hope you had a relaxing break.  This term sees the start of our new topic - Mexico.  This will last for the duration of the summer term.

Year 6 SATs week is week commencing Monday 12th May.  All children must be in school promptly as we have a strict test timetable to adhere to. The tests will take place in the classroom.

Year 6 Cathedral Choir We will be working with Music directors from the Cathedral to develop our singing skills with a view to us being a part of the choir at the Good Shepherd Mass at the Cathedral on Wednesday 11th June - more details will follow in a letter

End of year celebrations We will be holding a leavers evening on 16th July in school at 5pm.  The children from both Year 5 and 6 will perform an end of year production for parents to watch. This will be followed by a presentation evening for the Year 6 children.

Year 6 Leavers trip This will take place on 17th July.  More details to follow

PE - PE lessons will take place on Tuesday and Friday delivered by the Lancashire sports partnership. All children must wear appropriate clothing for sports.

Reading -  It is very important that children - of any age - have stories read to them and that they are also  listened to and questioned about their reading books. Can you please use the yellow reading record to note when you have    listened to your child read.

Spellings  - Each week we will have a focussed objective for spelling and every morning we will study related spelling patterns, the children will be set 10 words featuring that pattern to learn at home and in school.  On a Friday the   children will be tested on these words.

If you have any questions or concerns just call into the office to make an  appointment to see me or catch us on the door after school.

Thank you,

Miss Smith and Mrs Boardman
