Another fantastic week in class.
In Maths, we are learning all about position and direction and time! Year 1 started off thinking about what they do with their day... what do they do before school and after. They then moved on to reading the time with o'clock and half past; they were really excited to come back into class and show Year 2 what they have been learning! Year 2 have been busy looking more in depth at telling the time, using to and past to tell the time more accurately.
In Science we have been looking at different trees and talking about 'evergreen' and 'deciduous' trees. We then went to estimate the length of 3 different trees... we found a fun way to measure them by looking for the top of the tree through our legs and then using string to roll back to the trunk of the tree. We talked about measuring in feet or meters! (We had lots of laughs completing this experiment).
A little reminder for Year 2 parents- now that Year 6 have finished their SATS, we will be starting ours next week (please try to have an early night on Sunday) thank you!
